Gallery Vriend van Bavink is an Amsterdam based gallery that will present work by three artists that reflect on the ,sometimes problematic, relation between human beings and nature.

In the seemingly innocent photos by Natascha Libbert the traces that humans can leave in nature are subtly felt. The beauty you see often has a dark edge or plays with the devastating power of nature and of humans. During Fresh Eyes she will show a preview of the solo exhibition in the gallery that will open October 9th in which Natascha Libbert explores the ecological transformations within industrial landscapes where the signs of our globalized world are visible.

Roosmarijn Palandt focuses on materiality by experimenting with vintage photographic techniques, such as platinum and carbon printing or etching, through which faraway places can be closely examined through their representations in texture and relieved surfaces. Recollections of memories and myths thus become an act of transformation rather than mere reproduction.

Especially for Fresh Eyes Stijn Elshuis updated his serie Google Mountains . A woman with agoraphobia ( pleinvrees ) went on a world tour without putting a foot outside the door. In her lazy chair behind the computer, she traveled around the world with Google streetview. It inspired Stijn Elshuis to climb the highest mountains in the world and make a photo series about it. From behind his computer with Google maps. The work of Elshuis focuses on how we experience nature in a digital age. His work represents a digital abstraction of nature and he uses digital techniques to represent natural phenomena that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
